After much anticipation we finally have our own QR code for MariscottiART. Instead of having to type in the website's address into your browser every time you want to check out our site, you can now just scan the code with your phone and voila!
For those of you who are not familiar with QR codes, let me just say a thing or two about them. "QR Code" stands for Quick Response Code and is the trademark for a type of two-dimensional barcode which was first designed for the automotive industry. The code consists of black modules (square dots) arranged in a square pattern on a white background, and was designed to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed.
Formerly confined to industrial uses, they have in recent years become
common in consumer advertising and packaging. QR Codes storing
addresses and URLs may appear in magazines, on signs, on buses, on
business cards, or on almost any object about which users might need
information. Users with a camera phone equipped with the correct
reader application can scan the image of the QR Code to display text,
contact information, connect to a wireless network, or open a web page
in the telephone's browser.
