TERRA, ARIA, FUOCO, ACQUA, IMPATTO DEL "CANTICO DELLE CREATURE" SULL'UOMO MODERNO

Centro d'Arte San Vidal, Venice

19 - 28 July 2014

The motivation for this exhibition, itinerary and theme, comes from the fact that the ultra secular principles set out in the "Canticle of the Creatures" are a reference of great relevance to the salvation of our planet, which following the growing pollution caused by man, is at great risk of destruction. In addition, the disappearance of the "principle of brotherhood" at the root of the same "Canticle" is bringing people wars and continuous massacres and the prevailing economic power is leading men in unrestrained competition, emptying them of their human essence.

The first stage of this event was held at the "La Pigna" gallery located at the Palazzo Maffei Pontifical Marescotti in Rome, between 5 - 14 April 2014, resulting in: appreciation by the Secretariat General of the Presidency of the Italian Republic and heartfelt good wishes from the Pontifical Council of Culture in Vatican City.

Other prestigious stages, with the moral support of the Region of Campania and the City of Naples, took place between 24 May and 2 June 2014, and 6 - 17 June 2014, at the Modern Art gallery "The Gates" in Naples.

Each of these three events, held in many prestigious locations, was attended by journalists, national and local TV, critics and art historians; among these we make reference to Prof. Rosario Pinto, who has lectured on the topic of the show, attracting considerable interest from the audience.

This final stage takes place at the Art Center "San Vidal" in Campo San Zaccaria, in a historic building dating back to the XV Century, between 19 - 28 July 2014 under the moral patronage of UCAI of Venice. This particular location was chosen due to the mysticism that it inspires, being the site of an ancient monastery of the Benedictine Sisters. Another reason that led us to choose "San Vidal" for this last stage is the fact that during this period it is expected to arrive in Venice art lovers and collectors, gallery owners, critics and art historians and in particular, a large number of tourists from all over the world, eager to join in the feast of the Redeemer, the most ancient and important religious event in Venice.
