CHIESA DI SAN GIOBBE, VENEZIA
15 February - 4 March 2014
CALL'ART is born as a historic moment in the evolution of Contemporary art in dialogue with the experimental nature of the new visual languages. For the 2014 edition, we chose to create a "path" through which national and international artists, specifically chosen, explore the myths, words, dreams, images that can be traced back to a world of fantasy. Using techniques informed by personal experience (photography, painting, installation, sculpture, etc), zoomorphic forms are born that bind the universe of dreams and the imagination of the Carnival of Venice. Held at the medieval cloister at the chiesa di San Giobbe, the CALL'ART exhibition marks the artist's first exhibition in Venice.
Mariscotti commented on the exhibition, saying, "It is such a thrill and an honor for my work to be exhibited here in Venice. I hope my work inspire people to discover the true natural balance between color and shape." During the exhibition's inauguration, established Italian artist, Giorgio Celiberti, referred to Mariscotti's Untitled 1432 as "poetry" and CALL'ART's head curator, Dr Gabriele Romeo, compared Mariscotti's work to that of late established artist Mark Rothko.
